For our client - production branch of an international company with 150 employees in Slovakia, we are looking for an experienced Plant Manager with at least 10 years of experience in a leadership role concentrating on operations within the automotive industry, preferable in injection molding.

Job description responsibilities and duties

The Plant Manager is responsible for the performance, the people and the location of the designated plant. The plant manager plans, organizes and manages all the activities to ensure the operational, general & social goals are met. Local plant engineering changes, new product- and process launches will be managed by the plant manager and his local engineering team to ensure the best possible results can be achieved. He also supports sales in his area in order to realize the goals of the group.

General company management:


  • Overseeing the operations from material inflow to material outflow and all side-processes therewith related such as finance, quality, HR, etc.
  • Supporting development, implementation and adherence to company Vision & Strategy
  • Form company goals, derive plant KPI’s, Department Targets, individual and team targets
  • Managing the information flow between plant, headquarters, customers and other stake-holders.
  • Monitoring & reporting the financial results. Hold full responsibility for cost structure of the plant.
  • Creating and managing production and capacity plan for the plant
  • Identify and manage capex needs. Obtain approval for capex / investment plan
  • Creating a coaching and training program for the employees, especially for the leaders
  • Maintaining good internal contacts but also with local authorities and external partners


Operations management:


  • Responsible for the short & long term production forecast based on sales results and prospects
  • Keeping the stock-levels securing production needs but minimizing stock value.
  • Implementing a purchase standard in accordance with the purchase policy
  • Watching over the compliance on this purchase standard
  • Creating a local level QESH policy
  • Managing the quality results
  • Achieving and keeping the quality accreditation
  • Making sure the company is compliant to the latest (local) legislations
  • Implementing a maintenance standard for:
  • Infrastructure (buildings, utilities, etc.)
  • Production maintenance
  • Creating a production and supply chain policy based on lean manufacturing
  • Raising efficiency and productivity by implementing processes
  • Initiating and leading project on continuous improvement and operational excellence
  • Following up and managing the employee absence
  • Making sure there is a high employee satisfaction
  • Working on a constructive and respectful organizational culture
  • Managing the local engineering department in close collaboration with HQ engineering
  • Identifying local engineering needs and monitoring the NPI process

Requirements for the employee

- At least +10 years of experience in a leadership role concentrating on operations within the automotive industry, preferable in injection molding - University degree of similar by experience - English C1, local language, advantage German - Microsoft Office, MRP/ERP system - Result driven - Assertive - Strong analytical and problem solving skills - Capable to manage change processes - Knowledge of operations management and techniques - Leading by example in an inspiring way, involving people - Communicative - Able to effectively work in a matrix organization
