The Head of Post-Merger Integration (PMI)

We are looking for an experienced candidate for the Head of PMI position at our client, a well-known FMCG production company. This role requires a hands-on strategic thinker with strong project management skills and a close affinity with the local context and culture. The successful candidate will work closely with the local executive board and cross-functional teams to align processes, cultures, and systems, ensuring that the integration enhances operational efficiency and supports our long-term business objectives.

The Head of Post-Merger Integration (PMI)

Job description

  • Integration Strategy: Coordinate executing a comprehensive post-merger integration plan that aligns with the Group’s strategic goals and objectives for the CEE region.
  • Project Management: Drive the integration process, ensuring timelines, budgets, and milestones are met. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to address challenges and mitigate risks.
  • Communication: Facilitate effective integration and progress communication between all group companies. Ensure transparency and alignment at all organizational levels.
  • Change Management: Support both companies' cultural and operational integration into the new CEE division and promote a cohesive and collaborative work environment.
  • Operational Alignment: Streamline processes and systems across businesses to improve operational efficiency. Identify and leverage synergies to enhance performance within the CEE division and the wider Group.
  • Financial Integration: Work with finance teams to integrate financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes. Set up appropriate working capital management and treasury structure and processes. Ensure financial synergy targets are met and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Performance Monitoring: Establish metrics and KPIs to track and monitor the success of the integration and delivery of the synergy targets. Provide regular updates and reports to senior management.
  • IT Support: coordinate alignment between different systems and coordinate future IT strategy       
This role will also likely co-lead larger-scale projects or workstreams throughout the transition period to ensure speed of progress and quality of project delivery.

Requirements for the employee

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • Food manufacturing experience is advantageous, preferably in finance and/or commerce.
  • Fluent in the local language, Czech/Slovakian, and fluent English.
  • Proven expertise in post-merger integration.
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of successfully managing complexity.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Solid understanding of financial principles and experience in economic integration.
  • Ability to think strategically and define fit-for-purpose and context approaches.
  • Willingness to take business trips (Slovakia, Bohemia, Poland and Hungary)
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate cross-functional teams.
  • Multitasking abilities
  • Experience with change leadership and cultural integration.
  • Preferably, experience with ERP or other IT systems integration; this would be a plus
