Business Controller

For our client - an international production company, we are looking for an experienced business controller with excellent financial controlling skills and a good understanding of accounting. A successful candidate should have experience in business controlling in an international production environment and the ability to translate financial numbers into concrete action plans.

Job description responsibilities and duties

  • You are responsible for all weekly and monthly financial reports for local and Group Management.
  • You set up proper controlling tools to ensure an excellent monthly analysis (actuals vs budget) and challenge the management team.
  • You play a vital role in the budgeting and forecasting cycle.
  • You follow up on the products' profitability and the inventory's valuation.
  • You optimize working capital management by monitoring and challenging the local team on proactive follow-up of outstanding receivables, payables, and inventory control.
  • You ensure the implementation and follow-up of company policies and procedures, optimize internal control procedures, and ensure compliance with existing policies.
  • You work on ad hoc projects at the discretion of the Plant Manager and the Group CFO.
  • You are an active member of the Slovak Management team, taking part in the management decision-making process
  • You work closely with the Head of Accounting and act as back-up in case of absence.

Requirements for the employee

  • Master's or bachelor’s degree in Finance with relevant experience
  • Excellent controlling skills and a good understanding of accounting
  • Experience (at least 3 years) in business controlling in an international production environment
  • Ability to translate financial numbers into concrete action plans
  • Strong business acumen and ability to understand the reality behind the figures
  • Understanding of financial concepts, e.g., NWC
  • Knowledge of cash management optimization
  • Good verbal and written communication skills – must effectively communicate with the local management team and HQ abroad
  • fluent English (writing and speaking)
  • Advanced Excel knowledge (e.g., Pivot tables) and ERP experience
  • A strong personality who can drive change and who takes ownership
  • Pragmatic and to-the-point
  • Straightforward and transparent communicator with all levels of the company
  • Hands-on
  • Business-oriented: able to see the “global picture” and prepared to dig into the details
  • Process-oriented and able to link operational processes to the financials and vice versa
  • Able to make decisions and take ownership
